Industrial Designer

Job Summary

The Industrial Designer develops, presents and recommends product design solutions in styling, function and color.  Works under general direct of the Senior Director of Industrial Design.  Works in a team environment as both a core and satellite member on Product development team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops concepts giving visual presentation to verbal ideas.
• Develops product drawings to help establish functional, cost effective, aesthetically pleasing design.
• Develops and builds 3-D models for evaluation and testing for both internal and external reviews.
• Provides detailed control drawings of part design.
• Inspect and does approval of aesthetics and color on first piece process. Assists in developing models for major meetings.
• As a product development team member, provides industrial design input for all design aspects. Provides communication between the marketing & creative department and product development activities.
• Maintains records of project work and reports status and plan on a weekly basis.
• Performs other tasks and responsibilities relating to department and company goals as assigned.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or of study

Minimum Work Experience: 1 -3 years’ experience in related field.

License(s) / Certification(s): None 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Computer skills - CAD literate in Ashlar Vellum 3D or similar design program. Experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, and MS Office in a Mac environment is a plus.  
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent drawing and model-making skills.
