 Job Summary:

 

The Sr Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and executing complex domestic and international logistics operations to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of goods. This role manages inbound and outbound freight procurement, carrier coordination, inventory and warehousing alignment, customs compliance, and logistics process improvement. The position operates with a high degree of independence, provides guidance to logistics team members, and serves as a key interface between internal stakeholders and external logistics partners.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Logistics & Freight Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all inbound and outbound shipments across domestic and international networks.
  • Procure freight by determining optimal transportation modes, routing, and carriers based on cost, transit time, and service requirements.
  • Track shipments daily to ensure on-time pickup and delivery; proactively resolve issues and escalate as needed.
  • Support emergency and time-critical shipments, including after-hours/on-call support on a rotational basis.

Import / Export & Compliance

  • In collaboration with other logistics team members supports import and export activities, including customs clearance and preparation of commercial invoice and packing list
  • Ensure compliance with applicable trade, customs, safety, environmental, and transportation regulations (including 49 CFR).
  • Maintain accurate shipping documentation, PODs, billing validation, and customs records.

Inventory & Warehouse Coordination

  • Partner with procurement, warehouse, and distribution teams to align replenishment and shipment schedules.

Carrier, Vendor & 3PL Management

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and 3PL providers.
  • Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs; identify service gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Resolve invoicing discrepancies and support freight cost control initiatives.

Systems, Data & Reporting

  • Accurately enter and manage shipment data in ERP and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, service levels, and key metrics.

Process Improvement & Leadership

  • Identify and present process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency and reliability.
  • Support logistics strategy execution aligned with business goals.

 

 

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent with significant relevant experience will be considered.

Minimum Work Experience:

Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain roles, including domestic and international freight management.

License(s) / Certification(s):

APICS, CSCMP, Hazmat/DG shipments or similar supply chain certification preferred.

Valid driver’s license required.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
  • Strong knowledge of freight forwarding concepts, including Incoterms, bills of lading, and HTS classifications.
  • Proficiency with ERP and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple logistics projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle urgent logistics issues.
