Director, Strategic Sourcing and Quality

Job Summary

The role is responsible for designing and developing all aspects of our supplier relationships and quality management program for packs, apparel, and new categories.  Responsibilities include the development and implementation of strategic sourcing policies, new source development, item cost negotiations, development, and implementation of a supplier review process, and overseeing the sub-supply network and fabric mills.  

The position will develop strong partnerships with product management, sales, marketing, material management, and customer service teams within the company.   It will keep a customer orientation with emphasis on strong analysis, category expertise, and passion for driving innovation and value creation.  The successful candidate will have a strong sense of ownership in the entire product development and production process, while maintaining a clear vision of the quality expected of the Badlands consumer. 

Duties and Responsibilities

•    Effectively communicate the mission of Strategic Sourcing and educate internal stakeholders at all levels
•    Develop and execute outsourcing recommendations, primarily focused on innovation
•    Develop and manage supplier relationships 
•    Have input into the budget process for this department
•    Ability to develop new sources of supply including initial supplier evaluation, implementing supplier compliance programs, and quality management
•    Oversee the Quality management program to include pre-shipment inspections, incoming inspections, and issue resolutions
•    Think both strategically and tactfully; ideal candidate can manage multiple projects with high level of internal client relationship management skills
•    Bring business and sourcing perspectives together, helping the business to see the potential and impact of sourcing recommendations
•    Drives cross-functional negotiation teams, influences customers in the decision-making process, implements world-class negotiation techniques and contractual clauses
•    Other duties as deemed necessary 

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.


Minimum Work Experience: Ten (10) years experience in a Supply Chain Manager role at a consumer products company.
