WCB Outdoor Brands division operates integrated manufacturing and distribution facilities to support its growing outdoor cooking product portfolio.

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for leading all shipping and distribution operations at the Peebles BBQ manufacturing plant, while ensuring alignment with standards, processes, and performance expectations established across the Domestic Operations Distribution network.

This role provides strategic and operational leadership for outbound logistics, warehouse functions, and team development in a fast-paced environment. The DC Manager will drive safety, service, and efficiency while partnering with manufacturing, planning, and transportation teams to deliver best-in-class distribution performance.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, develop, and manage supervisors, leads, and hourly team members across shipping and warehouse operations.
• Build a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Establish clear expectations, provide coaching, and drive employee engagement and retention.
• Ensure proper staffing, scheduling, and labor planning to meet operational demands.

Distribution & Shipping Operations

• Oversee all outbound shipping activities including order fulfillment, staging, loading, and transportation coordination.
• Ensure accurate and on-time shipments in compliance with customer, retailer, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage dock operations, carrier scheduling, and freight flow to optimize throughput and reduce dwell time.
• Align processes with Domestic Operations Distribution network standards for shipping execution, documentation, and system transactions.
• Partner with transportation teams to optimize routing, cost, and service levels.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

• Maintain accurate inventory through strong control processes, cycle counting, and reconciliation practices.
• Partner with manufacturing and planning teams to ensure seamless flow of finished goods from production to shipment.
• Optimize warehouse layout, storage strategies, and material flow for efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and traceability of all products.

Safety & Compliance

• Champion WC Bradley’s “Safety First” culture across all distribution and dock operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, including equipment operation and dock safety.
• Lead safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready facility.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor, track, and report key distribution KPIs, including:
• On-Time Shipment Rate
• Order Accuracy
• Inventory Accuracy
• Dock-to-Load Cycle Time
• Freight Cost and Utilization
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging lean principles and best practices established across the Domestic Operations Distribution network.
• Identify process gaps and implement solutions to improve service, efficiency, and cost performance.
• Lead and support peak season planning, capacity management, and cross-functional coordination.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with plant leadership to align production output with shipping capacity and customer demand.
• Collaborate across the Domestic Operations Distribution network to standardize processes, share best practices, and drive consistency.
• Work with customer service, planning, and sales teams to ensure high service levels and responsiveness.
• Support system implementations, capital projects, and network optimization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years of experience in distribution, warehouse, or logistics operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in both manufacturing and distribution environments strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of shipping operations including LTL, FTL, and parcel.
• Experience with WMS/ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Proven ability to lead teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.

Work Environment

• Combination of warehouse and manufacturing environments with exposure to moving equipment, variable temperatures, and moderate to high noise levels.
• Requires frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs).
• Must be available to support extended hours, weekends, and peak operational periods as needed.
