Job Summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to gain experience in Product Development Engineering?

Char-Broil is looking for several dedicated, analytical, and career driven people to intern with our Development Engineering. These internships will give exposure to many facets of Product Engineering: performing and documenting test protocols, updating imaging of manuals and systems per the most recent specifications, creating 2d and 3d images in various imaging software, designing Key Performance Indicator dashboards, amongst other engineering duties. You will work with teams designing, testing, and creating specs for future models of Char-Broil Grills and accessories. These positions are for Summer 2018 internships.

Duties and Responsibilities

#205 Development Engineering Intern - Lab Technician

This intern position will assist engineering in day to day testing and development work. They will be required to run burner performance tests, run temperature tests, perform cook tests, and analyze data for product optimization. They will validate compliance to internal performance criteria for solid fuel grill models. Majority of time will be spent in Test Lab using state of the art equipment for reliability, product life, and exposure testing.

Qualification Requirements

Currently enrolled in an eligible program within an accredited instituion of higher education.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requirements and Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Enrollment in BA/BS Mechanical, Design or similarly related engineering program with at least 15 hours completed in major courses of study.
  • Analytics, Database Structure, PowerPoint, Corel, Microsoft Office, Creo (ProE) or other 3D based software
  • Microsoft Office with thorough understanding in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.  
  • An interest in learning about Product Development procedures, Testing and Validation procedures, collaborating with an international engineering team.  Experience in a lab/test facility is preferred.
  • Organized, Self-Driven
  • Computer Acumen, Detail Oriented
