Job Summary

Responsible for developing the short and long term strategic planning of the logistical operations for Lamplight to ensure facility and organization goals and objectives are achieved while coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day management of logistics, customer service, warehousing, and distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and ensure that the KPI’s and performance goals are set and achieved, through the proper execution of performance metrics as it relates to Productivity, Safety, Quality and Customer Service.
  • Research and identify best practices and trends in the marketplace and lead the implementation of innovative ideas that drive progress and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate, design and establish proper layout of the warehouse and product placement to ensure the environment is most conducive to optimize efficiencies while meeting all customer service levels.
  • Develop and maintain a work culture committed to superior customer service, while maintaining procedures and metrics to ensure customer service satisfaction levels are attained.
  • Ensure inventory is received, maintained and shipped appropriately and efficiently processed in the warehouse; maintain inventory integrity to acceptable metrics.
  • Design and implement staffing strategies to ensure work force is flexible and can respond to variations in work flow.
  • Work closely with team members to communicate and educate work instructions, policies, procedures and process improvement initiatives.
  • Drive highest level of customer quality.
  • Provide a safe work environment for team members; develop and enforce safe and smart work practices; ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Participate/Lead the deployment, management, and adoption of technology and other supply chain management solutions within the Logistics group.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledgebase of trends and standards practice within the supply chain management/logistics field.
  • Manage the activities of the Logistics team. Provide leadership, coaching, direction and growth opportunities to members of the department, performing those responsibilities in accordance with the established policies and applicable laws. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning or directing work, appraising performance, disciplining team members and resolving problems. Work with Human Resources to resolve more complex team member-related issues.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field of study.

Minimum Experience:

  • Seven (7) years of progressive warehouse/distribution management experience within the consumer product manufacturing industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of the Logistics function within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the consumer products industry.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international contract writing.
  • Knowledge of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency using a Personal Computer (PC) to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency using Enterprise Resource Planning (i.e., SAP, WMS).
  • Leadership skills and the ability to inspire direct and indirect reports.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to negotiate both reasonable and favorable contract terms for the Company.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with persons within and outside the Company of varying personality types.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to maintain information in a logical and well-thought-out manner.
  • Ability to travel within the United States and internationally.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of direct reports in pursuit of a common goal.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
