Job Summary

Under general direction, perform complex analytical and administrative work in the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of new and existing servers, computer, and SAN infrastructure components. Serve as a resource within IT on server management. May lead the work and provide guidance to junior Server Analyst.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot complex IT infrastructure devices including, but not limited to server, computer, and SAN equipment.
  • Work with U.S. based infrastructure team on global IT infrastructure initiatives and projects.
  • Provide advanced support for server, computer, and SAN equipment needs.
  • Recommend infrastructure improvements related to servers, computer resources, and SAN equipment.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot servers based on the server operating system.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer environment on Cisco UCS.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot SAN environments.
  • Document incidents and issues using the Service Desk management software; provide tier 3 support when necessary.
  • Provide feedback to management in regards to infrastructure technology needs relative to the server operating system; participate in long-term/strategic planning as it relates to IT infrastructure.
  • Participate in the budgeting process as it relates to server, computer, and SAN resources.
  • Participate in the review, update, and enforcement of IT corporate governance, audit compliance, and policies.
  • Adhere to Change Management procedures.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery infrastructure planning, documentation and testing.
  • Provide on call support as necessary to support business objectives.
  • Lead the work of other Server Analyst; provide guidance and direction as necessary; may provide input in the selection and performance appraisal processes.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualification Requirements

vMinimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Six (6) years of experience providing technical server support in a moderately complex IT environment.

Licensure/Certification(s):

  • Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) for Data Center.
  • VMWare Certified Professional.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of the Operating System in use.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure with an proficiency managing servers.
  • Strong knowledge of voice, video, and data networking standards of practice.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects or competing demands.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to efficiently prioritize assignments/work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Good customer service skills and the ability to demonstrate courtesy and professionalism with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to lead and provide guidance to coworkers.
  • Ability to be customer centric.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel as necessary (domestic and international).
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
