Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Accounts Receivable is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end accounts receivable process to ensure timely and accurate collection of company revenues. This role involves managing a team, improving cash flow, minimizing risk, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented leader with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operations of the accounts receivable department, including billing, collections, credit management, and cash application.
• Lead and mentor a team of AR specialists and analysts, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Develop and implement AR policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Monitor aging reports, identify risks, and develop strategies for reducing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
• Collaborate with internal teams (sales, customer service, legal, etc.) to resolve billing and payment issues.
• Establish credit limits, assess customer creditworthiness, and oversee credit risk management practices.
• Prepare and present regular AR performance reports to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards GAAP)internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Manage relationships with key customers to ensure positive payment experiences and resolve disputes.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Identify and implement automation or system improvements to streamline AR processes.
• SME of AR systems, ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, NetSuite), and financial reporting tools.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum Education: BA/BS degree in a related field
Minimum Work Experience:
- Seven (7) or more years
- Prior AR management experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Good communications skills
• Good analytical skills
• Good PC skills (Internet, Spreadsheets, and Word Processing)
• Must work well with other departments and in cross-functional areas
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
• Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers
• Ability to have regular and predictable attendance
