Job Summary

The Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment for team members and visitors at the W.C. Bradley Co. Front Avenue location. This role serves as the primary security presence and general receptionist, ensuring that all visitors are welcomed courteously, building access is properly controlled, and any potential security concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. In partnership with the Manager, Corporate Security, this position supports the administration and execution of an effective, proactive security program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet all visitors in a courteous and professional manner and ensure each is properly directed based on established guidelines.
  • Validate visitor identity, notify the appropriate team member, and issue identification badges or passes as required.
  • Maintain accurate logs of visitor traffic, deliveries, and team member entries/exits.
  • Monitor and control access to Front Avenue offices, screening outside visitors and removing unauthorized individuals from the premises when necessary.
  • Utilize CCTV and other monitoring systems to observe activity and identify suspicious behavior or potential threats to team members, property, or assets.
  • Escort team members to vehicles when a potential hazard or safety concern is identified.
  • Prepare detailed security reports documenting unusual or threatening attempts to gain access to the building.
  • Investigate suspicious vehicles or activities on company property when reported by designated management.
  • Maintain organized and secure files of all historical security-related incidents for future reference and documentation.
  • Notify evening/night security guards of relevant issues or unusual events from the day.
  • In emergencies, contact appropriate fire, medical, or police services and provide first aid when qualified.
  • Respond to emergency calls placed directly to the security kiosk, coordinating internal and external response based on the situation.
  • Assist management with de-escalation or intervention when team members become irate or pose a potential threat to themselves or others.
  • Provide support during on-site emergencies or building evacuations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education

High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.  Some college preferred

Minimum Work Experience:

1 to 2 years experience

License(s) / Certification(s)

  • None required at hire
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Physically capable of responding to a wide range of security and emergency situations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to interact professionally with visitors and team members
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to carry or assist with moving incapacitated individuals in emergency situations
  • Proficiency in PC and basic software applications
  • Ability to handle confidential information with a high level of integrity and discretion
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
