Job Summary

Responsible for the general security concerns of W.C. Bradley’s corporate headquarters, Charbroil’s headquarters and for developing and implementing the security and life safety policies, procedures and programs for the Real Estate holdings. Responsible to establish security programs to ensure personnel and property protection. Recommends and implements procedures and systems for visitor control, employee identification and safeguard of Real Estate properties, equipment, materials, employee and client property. Responsible to investigate loss control/accident reports when appropriate. Ensure customer satisfaction for successful security operations at all Real Estate properties and facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage, oversee and implement the latest procedures and techniques in property security and life safety in conjunction with local ordinances and prevailing laws.
  • Implement policies and procedures to control physical access to company owned facilities.
  • Issue facility access badges and fobs to team members, contractors, residents and tenants according to the facility access control plan.
  • Coordinates, in conjunction with the contract security company, the recruitment and selection of security personnel for multiple locations.
  • Train and evaluate security personnel on a regular basis.
  • Maintain liaison with federal, state and local/city law enforcement agencies.
  • Provide leadership as the official point of contact for emergency and crisis situations.
  • Conduct regular security assessments of all facilities and properties.
  • Ensure continuing dialogue on security issues.
  • In conjunction with the Property Management Division, make decision to investigate, or not, alleged security violations by team members of the W.C. Bradley Co.
  • Identifies vulnerabilities related to potential criminal threats.
  • Make recommendations regarding changes to security requirements including personnel, physical facilities and guard services.
  • Coordinate emergency response of law enforcement personnel.
  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing comprehensive bomb-threat and active shooter procedures, including immediate analysis of the threat, evacuation plan, physical search and notification of authorities.
  • Conduct or coordinate awareness training.
  • Participate and represent Real Estate in matters of property security.
  • Prepares and submits security recommendations to senior management, including manpower allocation, security system installations, and management of risk associated with criminal activity against the Company.
  • Exercise oversight of contact agencies that provides manpower and resources for additional security and investigative services to the Company.
  • Prepares and submits recommendations to senior management for action plans to reduce exposure to criminal activity.
  • Coordinates personal safety, security officer, and investigator training; works to increase productivity and streamline work center operations.
  • Develops, prepares, and submits annual operating and capital budgets relative to security and life safety systems, procedures and policies.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.
  • Conduct, review and provide a recommendation on potential tenants based on criminal background checks and credit checks.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Criminology or Criminal Justice preferred.

Minimum Work Experience: 

  • 6 years of property or facility security or related experience
  • 3-5 years security/loss prevention experience

License(s) / Certification(s): None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • In-depth knowledge of security operations, policies, and procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of criminal and civil laws, as well as Company policies and procedures
  • Strong analytical ability, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent administrative and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated effective crisis management skills
  • Knowledge of investigative procedures and methods
  • Must be a self-starter, able to meet agreed objectives with minimal supervision
  • Very good written and verbal skills and highly organized
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and is a team player
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
