Job Summary
This is a critical leadership role with a significant impact on commercial success for the company. The leader will set direction across strategic, operational, financial and talent decisions for the Core Business Unit and largely influence the same decisions for the entire company. Reporting to the Executive Vice President – Commercial Operations, you will participate in the North America senior leadership team and directly lead product management, industrial design, project management, and FP&A. You will also collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure engineering, sales, human resources, brand marketing and supply chain meet the business requirements for Core.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set strategy and operating direction for Core BU
- Select, recruit, lead and develop a high-quality team to generate annual and long-term targets
- Create a team environment that supports Operational Excellence and remains consistent with company values
- Lead development and commercialization of New Products and Line Extensions
- Lead portfolio management to protect market share while increasing profitability
- Partner with sales team to effectively sell in products with retailers; Create compelling internal and external customer-facing presentations
- Develop effective sales training materials, making it easy for retail store associates to understand our product offerings and key positioning
- Make high-quality, tough decisions with limited data and lean resources to achieve financial targets
- Large scale project management experience with the ability to influence direction of key initiatives and work with functional leaders and business teams to structure and staff efforts
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum Education:
- BA/BS degree; MBS a plus
Minimum Work Experience:
- Ten plus (10+) years relevant work experience in fields such as product marketing, marketing or product management with eight plus (8+) years of product marketing or marketing leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Prior ownership of P&L at product, category or business level
- Deep understanding of product development and commercialization processes
- Excellent executive communication skills: synthesizing complex problems and convincing people of your point of view
- Proven ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional commercial teams
- Excellent project management skills and ability to set clear milestones for teams
- Analytical mindset and comfort using data to diagnose and inform decisions
- Ability to prioritize key projects and allocate resources to drive those projects
- High energy to drive results and manage change
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions.
- Places personal credibility and reputation on the line to passionately advocate for what they believe in.
- Knows how to effectively manage risk and uncertainty for self and team.

- High intellectual horsepower and strong technical knowledge of the product management lifecycle
- Experience setting strategy and the vision and building, leading and motivating product management teams.
- Experience in interacting with customers and acting as an evangelist for the product vision among core customers and internal business units.
- Experience working with engineering, R&D, marketing, finance, and sales.
- Excellent communication skills with strong persuasion and influencing abilities. An excellent motivator who is charismatic, action-oriented, and confident with the ability to inspire confidence in others.
