Job Summary

The Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst position plays a crucial role in supporting the business by providing financial and costing support, while also contributing to financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. This role offers an opportunity to have a positive impact on financial performance and cost optimization.

This will be a hybrid position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Cost Analysis and Product Development Support:
o    Conduct make/buy analysis for various full-size and P&A products across North America and Europe.
o    Collaborate with sourcing, product management, and finance teams to provide costing support for new product development projects.

Month-End Closing and Financial Reporting:
o    Manage month-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and expense management for business unit P&Ls.

Forecasting and Budgeting:
o    Compile reasonable forecast/budget assumptions and ensure clear communication to relevant department personnel.
o    Facilitate forecasting and budgeting processes, backed by supporting documentation.

Operational Performance Analysis:
o    Dive deep into the operational performance of the company’s business units.
o    Interpret results relative to financial expectations and provide cost reduction recommendations.

Data Synthesis and Various Analyses:
o    Synthesize data from multiple sources into meaningful business information.
o    Support various analyses, including profitability analysis, ROI, NPV, and IRR.

Ad Hoc Requests:
o    Address other ad hoc analysis and requests as needed.


•    Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field


Minimum Work Experience:    •    Zero (0) to Two (2) years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related role.


License(s) / Certification(s):    •

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•  Proficiency in Financial Management Systems and Business Intelligence Software:
o    While not mandatory, familiarity with tools like SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud, and Power BI can enhance your effectiveness in this role.
•    Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP):
o    A solid grasp of GAAP ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance.
•Microsoft Office Skills:
o    Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
•    Experience in Product Costing and FP&A:
o    Although not required, prior experience in these areas can be advantageous.
•    Organizational Skills:
o    The ability to maintain information logically and efficiently is crucial for managing financial data.
•    Effective Communication and People Skills:
o    Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with diverse teams.
•    Initiative-taker Mentality:
o    As a senior analyst, you’ll need to take initiative and work independently.
•    Analytical Skills:
o    Proficiency in researching, interpreting data, and presenting findings is vital.
•    Time Management and Stress Handling:
o    Balancing deadlines and handling interruptions effectively is key.
•    Consistent Work Hours:
o    Whether on-site or remote, maintaining regular work hours ensures consistency.
•    Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
•    Ability to collaborate with co-workers
