Job Summary
W. C. Bradley Company, the home of Char-Broil Grills, TIKI® Brand Products, Badlands hunting apparel, and W. C. Bradley Real Estate is looking for a Director of Stakeholder Relations and Corporate Communications. Responsible for directing the stakeholder and community relations strategy and programs designed to promote and represent the organization and brands as a socially responsible force in the community. Oversees the planning of outreach programs that engage, support, and partner with the community and produce a positive impact to address local issues. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop clear objectives and deliver meaningful and measurable results. Supports community relations programs' entire life cycle, including coordinating events, managing volunteers, and executing grant proposals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Corporate Communication Programs
• Responsible for developing and executing proactive corporate communication programs that successfully reinforce business objectives, vision, and strategy for WCB with external and internal audiences. The internal audiences include senior leadership, team members, and Shareholders.
• Develop brand guidelines for W.C. Bradley Co. (Corporate business unit only). Provide marketing and editorial support to the Business Units of the company as requested or deemed appropriate.
• Provide input in the planning, design, production, and distribution of Company Shareholder, Board of Directors, and Family Office communication materials.
• Act as liaison for between the Company and key external stakeholders such as our Shareholders and The Family Office
• Oversee the management and routine publication of Corporate communications to include concepts and layouts, interviews, editorial content, copy review, graphic integration, print and distribution, etc.
Public Relations and Strategic Crisis Communications
• Proven experience in developing and executing strategic communications and public relations plan, including implementing strategic crisis communication plans for WCB and its core businesses.
• Serve as trusted media liaison for WCB and serve as Company spokesperson, when appropriate.
• Manage Company “brand” for WCB and its reputation.
• Manage the content of the Company website to include layout, navigation, and material makeup.
• Establish and maintain key media contacts; draft and publish approved press releases; and coordinate press conferences as necessary.
ESG
• Drives and monitors progress on defined ESG/sustainability objectives; communicates WCB’s ESG accomplishments to internal and external Stakeholders and builds an awareness and culture of sustainability within the Company.
• Produces regular reporting and assessments of our ESG performance relative to our own goals.
• Promotes and explains the organization's sustainability philosophy to internal and external audiences.
• Acts as a thought leader in ESG and makes recommendations on future ESG initiatives.
• Oversees initiatives to foster knowledge and adoption of diversity and inclusion topics and best practices, and to ensure the organization employs strategies to attract, develop, and retain members of underrepresented groups.
• Prioritizes the ESG issues that are most important to WCB Stakeholders
Community Involvement
• Coordinate WCB’s involvement in major community events within Columbus.
• Ensure that all Columbus-based community opportunities for the CEO are fully vetted.
• Provide oversight to Corporate Event Center / Museum management.
Other
• Manage the activities of an assigned team. Provide leadership, coaching, and direction and to members of the department, performing those responsibilities in accordance with the established policies and applicable laws. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning or directing work, appraising performance, disciplining team members and resolving problems. Work with Human Resources to resolve more complex team member-related issues.
• Ensure the protection of cultural and historical elements of the Company through the development and distribution of historical mediums.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum Education: Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations or other relevant discipline
Minimum Work Experience: 5 years Functional Experience, 5 years Managerial Experience
