Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced, creative, and dynamic Ambassador Chef to lead our culinary vision at Char-Broil LLC, supporting our house of brands, including Char-Broil and Oklahoma Joe’s. This individual with be the culinary face of the brands via social – “edutaining” (both educate, entertain, and engage) consumers online. At Char-Broil we have set out to redefine outdoor cooking with our innovation to deliver amazing experiences and this role is key in implementing this first-hand. The Ambassador needs to love and be an outdoor cooking aficionado especially sharing that knowledge with consumers world-wide digitally.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Organic Content – Social & Online (60%)
o Performs the role of the culinary face and Brand Ambassador for both Char-broil and Oklahoma Joe's
o Manages recipe development which can be up to 500 recipes per year
o Collaborates with brand team to ideate, create, and shoot amazingly delicious on-brand recipes to engage our consumers, communities
o Develops relationships with our content creator network, including influencers, and other social media personalities
o Creates relevant how-to content (written and video) that engages consumers and builds search friendly website content
• Production Support (20%)
o Plans and prepares menus for content production shoots
o Develops and tests recipes and sources ingredients
o Prepares and style food for various production shoots for packaging, pop, social content, website content, retailer content and more
• Product Support (15%)
o Test out products and assist in creating step by step cooking guides for WIFI and non-WIFI products to ensure consumers have a successful experience
o Responsible to be the main talent in educational and product walk-through videos for website and YouTube
• Sales Support (5%)
o Plans and runs cooking demos for customer meetings, media events, and tradeshows
o Executes events while maintaining the highest level of food quality and safety
• Other duties as deemed necessary.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum Education: A recognized culinary institution degree or a degree in a related field
Minimum Work Experience:
• Eight ( 8 ) years
• Experience as a full-time worker
License(s) / Certification(s): n/a
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Must be comfortable and thrive speaking on-camera – be able to “edutain” consumers
• Maintains ServeSafe certificate, or ability to get one within one month of starting
• Ability to research trends and create relevant content to connect with consumers online
• Ability to meaningfully connect with both brands Char-Broil and Oklahoma Joe’s targeted audiences
• On-camera experience, ideally with portfolio to share
• Strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
• Strong understanding of social media and online community platforms
• Basic knowledge of content production and food styling
• Adaptability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while addressing aggressive timetables for completion
• The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, highly collaborative environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Able to work well with others
• Travel up to 30%
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
• Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers
• Ability to have regular and predictable attendance
