The Job

You’ll be joining the Oklahoma Joe’s Engineering Team with the objective of pushing the boundaries of cooking experiences on smokers & live fire products with truly innovative products. You’ll be tightly integrating with our Advanced Development Team and our Electrical Engineering Team using state of the art development tools to bring compelling concepts to life. On projects you work on, you own it – whether it is an exploratory early chat with designers, your time in the zone modelling CAD, cooking on prototypes in the lab or working out manufacturability with a factory, you will wear many hats and employ a broad skillset making you the go-to person for everything technical.
We’re looking for a creative, passionate Mechanical Engineer who thrives when working in a cross-functional team, has more ideas than can be put on paper and loves to hammer out details – all by a deadline. All this is done at our modern, open space office in between cookouts and team events.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year college or university.

Minimum Work Experience:

3+ years of experience working in consumer goods or related industry, you know what to do

Licensure/Certification:

None.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • You are a true ace in designing a full product in PTC Creo 4.0 (preferred) or similar 3D CAD system with most parts in sheet metal construction.
  • Drawings, Bill of Materials, Tolerance stacks are second nature to you.
  • Obsession with detail but able to prioritize and manage your time when working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter. Can turn a vague idea into a tangible design with limited input. The confidence to take a project and run with it and the humility to ask for help before it’s too late.
  • Innate ability to communicate and work in culturally and regionally diverse environments, teams and with overseas suppliers or 3rd parties.
  • You know how your parts are made. Manufacturing processes, materials and quality control are highly desired.
  • Here is how you can stand out. Working knowledge of UL, CSA, ETL and related certification processes. Experience with charcoal/pellet/heating products. Knowledge of European codes and standards
