Job Summary

The EDI Specialist will support all Business Units of the WC Bradley Co. Primary supporting tasks generated from our EDI translator, Communications software (VAN/AS2), and new customer requests. Daily EDI Mapping/monitoring for the Sterling Gentran and B2Bi System. This position will work closely with the EDI Manager, Business units, Customers, and other team leads within IT. The EDI Specialist will help support the development process and all daily functions of the EDI team. Daily system monitoring for errors, interfacing with internal and external customers, testing and data gathering, projects updates, are some key areas of involvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage with business users for all EDI issues globally
  • Work with internal and external partners to understand requests, gather requirements, and testing
  • Monitor production support activities of Gentran and Sterling B2Bi systems
  • Support day-to-day operational activities through resolution of EDI related service desk tickets
  • EDI translator configurations and setups (Gentran & Sterling B2Bi systems)
  • Communication setup, configurations, and testing
  • Partner with ERP teams to update EDI technical requirements specs
  • Support Partner testing and 3rd party testing
  • Assist in all EDI cutovers activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Request EDI specs and keep Team depository updated
  • EDI Map development and changes as needed
  • Partner Profile setups
  • Assist in data recovery efforts as needed
  • Monitoring of EDI translator and customer errors/alerts
  • Make project updates to SharePoint & EDI Kanban Board
  • Monitor automation server
  • Monitor Late/Rejected Acknowledgement Report
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualification Requirements

Minimus Education: Associates degree in Computer Science or related field, Bachelor’s degree a plus.

 

Minimum Work Experience: 0-2 years experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with business analysis and process improvement skills
  • Experience with EDI or system support
  • SAP, Great Plaines (Microsoft Dynamics GP) and Microsoft Dynamics C5 experience is a plus
  • Understanding of integration points between ERP systems and external EDI partners
  • Some experience with Gentran, B2Bi, EDIFACT, ANSI X12, SML and cXML standards with knowledge of EDI messages such as 850, 855, 810, XML, SML, cXML and segments in IDOCs and EDI files
  • Experience with IDOC processing would be a plus
  • Working knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Strong understanding of network concepts and communication protocols such as FTP and AS2
  • Exposure to mapping tools such as Gentran, Sterling B2Bi
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well across all levels within the organization
  • Ability to engage with the business to analyze and document business process requirements.
  • Familiar with test plans, test case scenario’s (unit, integration, regression and UAT)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, & SharePoint
  • Able to operate independently and with little guidance
  • Strong problem solving, trouble shooting, and analytical skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
