Job Summary

Manage and direct aggressive sales growth and profitability of Char-Broil’s grills, parts and accessories and specialty products in the Sporting Goods and Hardware channels.  Create the vision for channels and the accounts and work closely with key internal functions (Marketing and New Product Development teams, etc.) on growth strategy and direction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishing and implementing sales strategies to develop assigned channels, including Sporting Goods and Hardware.
  • Managing assigned channels and accounts P&L, analyzing and managing each business segment to sales and margin growth.
  • Working with Marketing and Product teams to support assigned key channels and accounts.
  • Forecasting customer needs and active participation in S&OP meetings for future product demand, production scheduling, and finished goods inventory.
  • Establishing and maintaining direct personal relationships with targeted existing and potential account decision-makers at assigned accounts. 
  • Attending and participating in key trade and customer events representing Char-Broil
  • Overseeing, organizing and formalizing account visits, and customers’ annual planning process in seasonal category.
  • Providing regular, factual market feedback to the broader organization.
  • Formalizing trade sales agreements to both internal and external customers.
  • Assisting management to determine product needs, marketing programs, merchandising needs to meet sales/margin objectives
  • Being actively involved in critical customer and proactively managing these issue to achieve desired end results.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education:    Undergraduate degree (B.S. or B.A.), preferably in Business or Marketing.  MBA degree is a strong plus.


Minimum Work Experience:    7-10 years experience in the consumer durable products industry through sales, product management, or marketing. Strong consumer brand experience preferred.

  • Intermediate computer skills with experience in MS Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Organization and planning - ability to manage and plan multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Proven successful track record and relationships with key hardware sporting goods channel is required
  • Embrace a strong sense of focus on meeting the business needs for both internal and external customers
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
